The participants of the first roll of BIONIC University Pro’s program for IT-recruiters “Recruit: HowTo” had to undergo a real challenge. Firstly, they spent their few days-off at the training. Secondly, they intensively mastered interviewing techniques and learned how to identify the psychological characteristics of the candidates. And thirdly - aptly threw mandarins at other participants!

How was it?

Future IT-recruiters know what they want. "I am very happy that the group was serious about their studies and prepared for the topics for discussion. Thanks to this, participants quickly found a common language and well-performed complex practical tasks,"- says program trainer, Head of Recruitment at Infopulse Olena Terzinova.

The training program involves intensive work on key skills of a recruiter. This included definition of psychological traits of the candidates and identifying his role in the team, a workshop on telephone interviews and much more. "Thanks to our group of active and ambitious trainees we were able to look at the profession of a recruiter at a new angle" - says program trainer, recruiter at Infopulse Mykyta Vorchynskyi.

Getting to practice

The finish line of the program was holding real interviews with programmers. The applicants were students of Tech programs of BIONIC University. "It was an impressive result. Recruiter students at training were behaving as true professionals. And although they have still much to learn on their own, the start was successful,"- says Olena Terzinova.

Students were also satisfied: "I am very pleased that we gained not intuitive hints, but systematic skills of analyzing the candidates," - says one of the participants of the program. Also, participants learned to identify psychological type of candidates, and to hold job interviews and highlight key characteristics of future employees.

But what about the mandarins?

Mandarins were used instead of a ball to throw at another participant. The students completed trainers’ tasks and passed a go to the next person. When you throw a mandarin, you don’t have an option to miss the target! Therefore participants of the program «Recruit: HowTo» learned both: to accurately aim at each other and to accurately determine the best candidates for a position in IT.
