The National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and Vanopl Development Group with the support of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Cybernetic Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine will conduct the 12th Open International Student Olympiad in Programming named after S.A. Lebedev and V.M. Glushkov KPI-OPEN 2017 from July 3rd to 8th July 2017.

KPI-OPEN Olympiad is one of the biggest on-site programming contests in the World and the largest one in Ukraine. It was held in 2006 for the first time and it became an important event for Ukrainian, CIS and Eastern European programmers from the very beginning. The contest is ruled under original regulations, harmonized to international ones. There is no registration fee to attend KPI-OPEN which makes the event an excellent meeting venue for young programmers from Ukraine and other countries.

The main objectives of the contest are: drawing society’s attention to intellectual competitions among students and improving professional knowledge level of young specialists. KPI-OPEN helps to establish personal contacts among students from different cities and countries, to develop communications among educational institutions, and to promote self-development and teamwork. Participating in the event gives IT companies a great chance to find potential candidates among the best students. It has already become a tradition that in the course of presentations, seminars and lectures, experts from IT companies share their experience and knowledge introducing young programmers to the current challenges facing the industry. From the very beginning KPI-OPEN has been attracting community attention. The number of participants, geographical coverage and media support of the event are increasing steadily.
